Do You Listen to the Advice You’re Paying For?

You’ve probably spent time and energy choosing a consultant, coach, or firm. You vetted them. You liked their track record. You believed they could help. Then what?

Too often, leaders hire outside help, nod their heads in agreement, and then do little or nothing with the recommendations. That’s like paying for a gym membership and never showing up.

If you made the choice to bring in an expert, give yourself credit for that. You trusted your instincts and experience. Now follow through.

Here’s the real confidence test:

  1. Trust your decision. You did the homework. You picked someone who knows their stuff.
  2. Implement with intent. Acting on outside advice doesn’t make you weak. It makes you smart enough to use every tool available.

The leaders who grow—companies, teams, even entire organizations—are the ones who execute. They don’t let ideas sit in a binder or die in a PowerPoint deck. They test, tweak, and push recommendations into action.

If you’re not ready to do that, save your money and everyone’s time. Don’t bring in an “expert” if you won’t let them help you.

But if you want growth, impact, and results, listen to the advice you’re paying for. Then do something with it. That’s where the change happens.
